The Council Oak Tree was the first settlement of the Locv Pokv Tribal Town of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. They reestablished their Tribal Town here after a long and arduous journey on the Trail of Tears in 1836. The tree still stands proud and is well over two hundred years old and stands in one of Tulsa's oldest neighborhoods, Riverview Tulsa.
